Song of the Heart

I have known this for quite…quite a long time,

love is a reason without any rhyme.

You are the wheel that rolls through my mind,

so often I’ve prayed:  I wish you were mine!

Much ado about nothing? I hardly believe,

will I find another?  Such I cannot conceive.

You are the breeze in the windmills of my mind,

be it strong or gentle, your love has been kind.

Mine eyes have oft’ tears felt, as I’ve journeyed along,

how long must I wait for I know it’s not wrong.

Long days I have spent, praying for you,

must I ponder (PLEASE NOT!) ever saying Adeu?

I have carried this burden for two lonely years,

tarry I shall despite these cold tears.

Until I have captured your heart and your love,

I will not seek anything else from above.

Am I ever so hurried that I rush you along?

Thine own heart I long for – to in it sing all day – only….. your song.
