Cerulean Blue

Cerulean Blue

Please don’t be offended

If I pass this way for you

And paint a poem about a girl and boy

And a color called Cerulean blue

You see I’m just a man –

and all of this – it’s the kinda thing we do

When the hearts still strong yet still enough to seek

To seek and try to stay in view

It’s not everyday I find the strength

To go out in this hard world and seek

There’s so much pain and emotional carnage

It’s enough to make you weep

But some days I can still look up at the sky

And in it strength there find- within it – to reside

And know that just as everything once went out

It may come back in

With perhaps you in the water of it’s tide

Early Artists they tried to find

A color to match the sky

And mixed and matched all their medias that they could find

Each one a reason and a why

The color of the sky it is so hard to match

It was never an easy task

The shimmering blue of summer day

The beauty underneath to bask.

You see – this is what it is like to look for love

To find a way to somehow find it

To only have limited tools unto its acquisition;

Maybe only a writer’s hand for writ

So – please don’t be offended

If I pass this way for you

And paint a poem about a girl and boy

And a color called Cerulean Blue

I just want to know if you sit somewhere

‘neath this beautiful wide open blue

and somewhere out there, under a suns warm glow

know that I still think of you.

And like the sun’s traversing

And the coming of the night

I promise I won’t stay forever

It’s not within my right

But come again, I surely may

For your hearts firm hand is upon my own

And somewhere deep within me

A wild rhythm seeks its cadence to hone.

Surety and hope once took to wing and flight

And I was left alone to fend a broken heart each night

But each day I walk and look to find my color

And to find the one for me – yet with great ardour

So forgive me for looking

And trying to get this color right

I know I can be a bit annoying –

I promise it’s not just for spite

I’m looking for an illusive lover

I’m looking for my Cerulean blue

I’m looking for the one who is so just for me

I’m looking to see if it is you.

So – please don’t be offended

If I pass this way for you

And paint a poem about a girl and boy

And a color called Cerulean blue
