The following here is poetry
inspired by your last letter
You know if I could be of any dog
I’d be an Irish Setter

As I’m ever quite so sure that as a Dog
I’d never learn to write
and ever spend at this keyboard here
another sleepless night

But I am far too human
and I love too much to write
and will type all day at this keyboard
as the sun glides out of sight

something you said inspired me
you filled my sails with wind
To write all these poems and verses here
I surely did not intend

Oh, but please forgive me
I shall take not a moment more
And soon shall quick remove myself
though this given, present door

Verbosity has never seemed a gift to me
it seems so much a fetter
The following here is poetry, my friend
inspired by your last letter.
